I’m Nadaav. I make delicate drama, quirky comedy, and bold TV documentaries.

Films: Sound Asleep, starring Red Dwarf’s Danny John-Jules, an offbeat comedy about an insomniac. Tell/Don’t Tell, a tender, interactive drama about life after prison. And Games, a sensitive short drama about childhood and bullying.

TV: Panorama (BBC1), Time Team (C4), Blue Peter (BBC1) and After Dark (BBC4). These are some of the longest running and most significant British TV shows of all time.

Career History

2000: Trained under BIFA winning editor Justine Wright (Last King of Scotland, One Day In September, Touching The Void).

 

2000-2007: Broadcast TV: The British Comedy Awards (ITV1), Panorama (BBC1), Time Team (C4), Blue Peter (BBC1/CBBC), Talk To The Prime Minister (C5). Worked with Melvin Bragg, Jonathan Ross, Jon Snow, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown.

 

2007: My first director credits: ITV1’s Match Made In Heaven, and 3 commercials for BNP Paribas.

 

2009-2012: Trained at The Directors Guild, Raindance, and London Film School.

 

2010: The Opera Singer, short comedy, (DoP: Emmy winner Frank Dow, editor: BAFTA nominee Adam Gough). Screened at BAFTA qualifiers Raindance, London Short Film Festival.

 

2012-2020 Comedy and drama commissions. Branded content for Citibank, BUPA, Aldi, Sainsbury’s, Lebara. TV: Working Lives (BBC World News), Married At First Sight (C4).

 

Finalist in the British Council’s Creative Entrepreneur Awards;

Winner of Focal Award for this documentary commercial;

Selected for Directors UK Inspire 2020.

 

My Other Stuff

I’m a member of the global Burning Man community where I participate as an artist and work in supporting other artists. I create installations and performance at festivals worldwide. And I perform as a character comedian and live story-teller.

2012-2020: Directed branded content and commercials for Citibank, Aldi, Sainsbury’s, Lebara. Educational drama for Ministry of Justice and Jewish Women’s Aid. TV documentary including: Working Lives (BBC World), Married At First Sight (Channel 4).

Since 2022: Freelancing at BBC Studios.
